COMPRISE has just published an article titled “Anonymisation and Re-Identification Risk for Voice Data” in Volume 7 (2021), Issue 2 of the European Data Protection Law Review (EDPL).

This article talks in-depth about the challenges of anonymising voice data in relation to the GDPR.
It focuses on the automatic anonymisation of voice data in voice assistants and voice-enabled applications and the issues that may arise from it, particularly the re-identification risk of data subjects and the evaluation of such risk.
